Chili Contest Sizzles

The Chili Contest was a spicy hot (or sweet, depending upon the recipe) SUCCESS! One pot of chili brought in $750.00 for Palisades Park--yes, $750! The last I heard, we'd raised about $1363 all together.

There were approximately 100 people in attendance, and mother nature surprised us with sunshine and warm temps.

Mark your calendars for April 25th for the Palisades Park Clean Up day. We'll be working for about 3 hours--clearing trails and other projects. It's lots of fun and great way to meet other Spokane neighbors with a heart for our city's parks.

More information to come on the cleanup.

Palisades in Winter

In case you're wondering what the park looks like in late January, we went on an exploration today and took some pictures for you.

As you can see, it's not quite ready for lots of biking or horseback riding, but it's quite suitable for hiking up top or anyone with a sense of snow adventure. On clear and sunny days like today you have a wonderful view of Mt. Spokane and downtown Spokane. But be careful around the ledges since the edge of the cliff may be deceiving because of the snow.
